We love when Lu comes to visit!!
hot dogs and "macky" cheese on the patio

Getting put to work picking peas with Uncle Jay

Making "green slime" cookies

The master bread dough kneader

Both kids agreed that smashing the blackberries was the best part of making jam

Yay. She looks so cute and happy in those pictures. We don't have many like that!

She looks like she had so much fun! She's so lucky to get to spend time with her favorite Aunt and Uncle!

I'm afraid no amounts of Disneyland trips from us will move us into first place.

What were you smashing blueberries for? And what are 'green slime' cookies? Cookies with food coloring? Sugar cookies with green frosting?

I remember bek amking chocolate chip cookies back in the Tennessee days and she colored them green and called them green slime cookies. Lauren thought it was funny.
We made bread and cookies and jam on this trip. Sam and Lauren were smashing the berries for the jam.

Holy Crap- I notice she is wearing the same clothes in all the pics. Does this mean you made Jam, Green Slime Cookies, AND bread, all in the same freakin' day?!?!?

You set the mom/aunt bar way to high- I just can't live up to that :)

Two days, Mak! Look closer. She just wore a lot of green! None of those things are hard to make, or very time consuming. Come over and I'll teach you...

You're talking to the girl who can't manage to clean her house, make food for her family (let alone HOMEMADE BREAD AND JAM!!!)! Sure, I'm capable of learning (i can make freezer jam!) but do I have time to do it?

Your children are adorable.

Blackberry jam sounds so yummy!

I want Lu to come visit me! She looks so happy and helpful--and I don't get much of that chez moi.

This is the first summer I haven't had a visit from my niece and nephew and I'm kind of bummed.

Oh and I loved Mak's comment!
